Beach Corner Cottage is in Gorran Haven. That's a small village on the south coast of Cornwall. It's about twenty minutes drive from St Austell.
It's called "cottage", but it's really a stone house, one of a pair. It's from the 1600s. I've updated it inside, but it's not fancy. It's comfortable.
The big thing is the location. It's right on the beach. I mean literally on it. You step out of the front door onto the sand. The whole front of the cottage faces the sea.
It sleeps four, across three bedrooms. One bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's parking close by. The facilities are all there: WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher, towels included.
You can take up to two dogs. They must be kept off the furniture.
The stairs inside are steep and narrow. It's an old building, that's just how they are.
In the village there's a small shop for basics, a pub, and a restaurant. You can walk to all of them.
The South West Coast Path goes past the door. You can walk along to Mevagissey one way, or Dodman Point the other. It's very good walking country.
If you want to drive out, Mevagissey is about ten minutes away. It's a proper fishing harbour with pasty shops and boat trips. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are about fifteen minutes away. The Eden Project is maybe twenty-five minutes.
Further along the coast, you've got Charlestown with its tall ships and the Fowey ferry in summer.
It's a simple place. You're coming for the beach and the coast. If that's what you want, it does the job.
