Sea Star Cottage is in Fowey, right on the harbour side. If you know Fowey, you'll know it's a hilly place. The cottage is on one of the steep streets, so the walk back is a bit of a climb.
It sleeps seven in four bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well kept.
The main thing is the view. There's a bench out the front where you can sit and look right over the estuary to Polruan. It's a proper working harbour, so there's always something to watch.
Inside, it's got an Aga in the kitchen. It heats the place and you can cook on it, but it takes a bit of getting used to if you haven't used one before. There's a wood burner in the living room too. We leave a welcome pack for you.
Out the back is a small courtyard with a barbecue. It's a sun trap in the afternoon.
The Readymoney beach is about a ten minute walk downhill. The main town with shops, restaurants and pubs is even closer. The nearest pub is about 50 yards away.
You can get the ferry across to Polruan from the town quay. The Hall Walk over there is a great loop if you like a decent stroll. Boat trips run from the harbour in the summer, over to Mevagissey and such.
Further out, The Eden Project is about a 20 minute drive. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a bit further, maybe 25 minutes. Both are good for a day out if you like that sort of thing.
Facilities: It's got WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
