Linhay

Linhay is in Trecangate, near Looe. It's one of the cottages on Trecan Farm. There are a few others here, like Holly and The Lodge. You're down a long private drive, so it's quiet. The views are over fields.

It sleeps five in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped. The kitchen has a dishwasher, and there's a washing machine. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance, but the rest of the cottage is on one floor so there aren't any stairs to worry about.

The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got children. There's a patio with a barbecue. On the farm itself there's a games room and a tennis court. They feed the animals every day – goats, chickens, that sort of thing – so you can go and watch. Porfell Animal Land is right next door, just a short walk.

For beaches, Talland Bay is about five miles away. It's got rock pools and the coastal path runs past it. Looe is a bit closer. The beach there is sandy, good for families. You can get fishing trips from the harbour.

If you want to explore, you're in a decent spot. The Eden Project is about half an hour's drive. Fowey is lovely for a wander around the shops and cafés; that's maybe twenty minutes. The Camel Trail for cycling is further, up near Bodmin, maybe forty minutes. We're on the edge of Bodmin Moor, so walking is right from the door.

In terms of what's here: all the bedding is included, there's a cot and a highchair if you need them, and you can park right outside. No pets allowed. It's a working farm, so you'll see tractors and things going about.
