The Oaks is one of the cottages at Trecan Farm, near Polperro in Cornwall. You turn off down a long private drive to get here. It's detached and quiet.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The main thing here is the setting. You look out over fields. You'll see buzzards about, and sometimes deer in the distance. They keep farm animals on site, chickens and goats and that, and the kids can go and help feed them.
There's stuff to do without leaving. A tennis court. An indoor games room with a pool table. A play area for little ones. Porfell Animal Land is a five minute walk away if you want more of that.
For the coast, Talland Bay is about ten minutes in the car. It's a proper cove with rock pools. Looe is a bit further, maybe fifteen minutes. That's got a sandy beach and you can get boat trips out to Looe Island from there.
You're quite central for driving to other parts of Cornwall. The north coast, places like Padstow and Polzeath, are about forty minutes. Fowey is lovely for pottering about, similar drive. The Eden Project is maybe twenty-five minutes. The Camel Trail for cycling is up near Bodmin, half an hour or so.
Inside, it's got a wood burner for cooler evenings. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. All the bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside.
