Old School House
Old School House is in Gerrans, right next to the village green. It's a new cottage, but they built it in the old style with beams and box windows. It feels older than it is. You get a good view from here over the bay towards Nare Head.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. That's useful. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. There's an open fireplace in the sitting room for cooler evenings.
Out the back there's a walled courtyard garden. It faces west so you get the sun in the afternoon and evening. It's enclosed, so it's secure.
The village is quiet. Portscatho is just down the hill, maybe a ten minute walk. That's where the beach is, about 800 yards. It's sandy with rock pools. There's a local shop there, and a couple of pubs. The Standard pub is close, just up the road. They do good food.
You're on the Roseland Peninsula here. For walking, you're right by the coast path. The whole area is good for it. You can drive to St Mawes in about twenty minutes, or to the ferry for Falmouth. The National Trust looks after a lot of the coast around here, like Porthcurnick and Towan beaches.
Inside, it's got what you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs. There's parking on the drive.
