Fountain House
Fountain House is in St Mawes, on the waterfront. It's a good size, sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms, so people aren't queuing.
You're up a bit from the harbour. The main living room and kitchen are upstairs to get the view. It's a proper look-out-over-the-water view, across to Falmouth. You can sit out on the terraced bits of garden and see it from there too.
The house has a 4 Star rating. It's well looked after. There's a second sitting room downstairs which is handy if you've got kids who want to watch something different, or just need a bit of space.
St Mawes itself is small. Everything is walking distance: the beach, the shops, a few places to eat. The passenger ferry over to Falmouth leaves from the quay, which is very useful. You can park at the big car park in the village. We get weekly passes for guests. There's no direct parking at the house, you have to walk the last bit. The side access is shared with next door, just so you know.
If you want to explore, the Roseland is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There's coastal walking right from the door. The National Trust looks after a lot of the coastline around here. For a good beach day, Porthcurnick is close. Their beach cafe, the Hidden Hut, is popular.
Inside, it's got what you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, wood burner. All bedding and towels are there. No pets, sorry.
