Fountain House
Fountain House is in St Mawes, on the waterfront. It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms with three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The layout is upside down. The bedrooms are on the ground floor, and the main living area is upstairs. You do that for the view. The main living room has big windows looking out over the sea. It's a good spot to sit.
There's a second living space downstairs that works as a TV room, which is useful if you've got kids.
The garden is terraced. You go up through it to a seating area at the top. You can see the sea between the rooftops from there.
You need to know there's no parking at the house. There's a big car park in the village where you can buy a weekly pass. Access to the house is via a shared right of way with the neighbour. Also, there are security cameras on the outside entrances. None inside.
St Mawes itself is small. There are beaches, a sailing club, shops, and restaurants. You can get the passenger ferry over to Falmouth, which is busy and has the National Maritime Museum.
The whole Roseland Peninsula is nice for walking. The National Trust looks after a lot of the coast here. Porthcurnick Beach and its famous beach cafe, the Hidden Hut, are about a ten minute drive.
Truro is about half an hour away if you need a big shop or the train station.
The house has what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
