Halcyon

This is Halcyon. It's on the main street in St Mawes, right in the village. It's one of a pair of cottages, but you have your own garden. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's well-equipped and in good order. It sleeps eight, though there are only three bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms are big with double beds, and the third has a single bed and bunk beds, which works well for kids.

You get a proper view of the bay from the front. The main bedroom has a balcony where you can sit and look at it. The stairs inside are fine, not too steep.

There's a wood burner in the living room, which is fine for cooler evenings. The kitchen is modern and has a Rangemaster oven. It opens out onto the garden through double doors. The garden is sunny, with a patio and a lawn. There's an outdoor shower, which is handy for washing off sand or wetsuits.

In terms of facilities, you've got pretty much what you'd need: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring one dog. Parking is on site.

Everything in St Mawes is walkable. There's a shop, a few places to eat, and the harbour is just down the hill. You can get the ferry over to Falmouth from there. For walking, you're right on the South West Coast Path.

If you want to drive, Portscatho and Portloe are along the coast. The whole Roseland Peninsula is good for exploring. Truro is about half an hour away if you need a bigger town or the cathedral.
