The Wherry Arch is in Irstead, which is just a bit inland from Barton Broad on the Norfolk Broads. It's a detached place, surrounded by woods. Very quiet.
It sleeps five people, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean, but not new or overly modern. That's fine by us. You can bring one dog.
The building is unusual. It's a converted arch over water, and it's Grade II listed. They used to load cargo boats, called wherries, through here. You get your own mooring spot right outside, and there's a dinghy and a rowing boat for guests to use. The stairs inside are quite steep, though, just so you know.
There's a local shop and a pub about a quarter of a mile up the lane. The pub does food. For a proper day out, you're right on the Broads. You can hire a day boat from Wroxham, which is about a 20-minute drive. Norwich is roughly half an hour away by car. It's a good city for a wander, with the cathedral and castle. The coast at Great Yarmouth is about 30 minutes' drive, if you fancy the seaside.
What you get here: a garden with a patio and a BBQ, parking, a washing machine, and we include the bedding. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
