Right, so The Wherry Arch is in Irstead. It's a pretty quiet bit of Norfolk, near the River Ant. The building is unusual, it's a listed arch. They think it was for storing grain. Wherries, which were old trading boats, could sail right through the arch to load up. It's a proper one-off.
It sleeps six in four bedrooms and has two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and works fine, but it's an old building, so don't expect everything to be brand new. There's a bit of a step down into the living room, just so you know. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
You're in the woods here, so it's very peaceful. There's a garden and a patio with a BBQ. You've got your own mooring spot right there on the riverbank, and we leave a dinghy for guests. It's fine for a bit of fishing or just pootling about on the water.
The local village shop and a pub are about a quarter of a mile down the lane. The pub does food. For a bigger shop, you'd drive into Wroxham, which is about ten minutes away. That's also where you can hire a day boat if you fancy a proper trip out on the Broads.
Norwich is about half an hour by car. It's a good city to wander around, with the cathedral and the castle. The coast is about forty minutes. Great Yarmouth is the full-on seaside with arcades, or you can go to quieter beaches like Caister.
Stuff that's here: all bedding, a cot, a highchair, parking, and the washing machine is in a utility room next to the main building. The WiFi works, but it's not super fast because of the location.
