This is Sutton Windmill. It's a converted windmill near the village of Sutton in Norfolk. It's tall. You can see the countryside and the coast from the top.
It sleeps five people. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and comfortable. It was fully renovated a few years ago.
The main thing is the stairs. They're the original mill stairs, so they spiral and they're steep. You need to be okay with that. It's part of the building.
There's a completely private garden. It's enclosed, so it's safe for kids or dogs. We allow two pets.
The local pub is about a mile away. Stalham is two and a half miles for a supermarket and shops. The coast at Sea Palling is about a 15 minute drive. It's a good sandy beach.
You're right on the edge of the Norfolk Broads. Sutton Staithe is the nearest point to get onto the river. You can hire boats from there. For a bigger town, Wroxham is about 20 minutes by car. That's where you'll find the Bure Valley Railway.
Further along the coast, Horsey and Waxham have quieter beaches. In the winter, you can see the grey seals at Horsey. For a day out, Norwich is about 40 minutes away. It's a proper city with a cathedral, castle, and shops.
Inside, it's open plan on the ground floor. There's a wood burning stove. All the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and parking. We can provide a highchair.
