Lighthouse Cottage is in Happisburgh. It's an old lighthouse keeper's cottage, built in 1791. It's right next to the working lighthouse, which you can hear sometimes. The views are good, mostly sea out the front and fields out the back.
It sleeps five. There are two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-kept. The stairs are the original ones, so they're quite steep and narrow. The cellar has been done up as a games room, which is mainly for kids but fine for adults too if you don't mind the low ceiling.
There's an enclosed garden with a patio and a barbecue. Parking is on the gravel next to the cottage.
The lighthouse itself is next door. It opens to the public on some Sundays in summer and you can go up. Private tours can sometimes be arranged through the trust that runs it, but that costs extra and needs booking ahead.
The village shop and pub are about half a mile away. The beach is a short walk down the path. The coast path is right there for walking. The erosion cliffs are dramatic, but do keep back from the edge.
For a day out, Wroxham on the Broads is about twenty minutes by car. Norwich is maybe forty minutes. The National Trust Norfolk page is useful for nearby places like Horsey or Blickling.
Facilities wise, you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a wood burner. We can provide a cot and highchair. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
