On The Beach

On The Beach is in Bacton, Norfolk. The name's accurate. It's right on a sandy beach, not a view of it, but on it. You can hear the sea from inside if the wind's right.

It's an end-of-terrace chalet on a private park. Sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and has what you need but it's not luxurious. There's a verandah with some outdoor furniture. A big communal green is out the front if you need to run a dog around.

The village is a walk away. Two pubs that do food, a fish and chip shop, a cafe, and an ice cream place. That covers the basics.

If you want to go further, Cromer is about 13 miles up the coast. Sheringham is a bit further. They're proper old-fashioned seaside towns. The Norfolk Broads are nearby too, around Wroxham. You can hire a boat there easily.

For walks, Bacton Woods is good. The beach itself is good for sea fishing if you bring a rod. For notable gardens or big houses, you've got Sheringham Park or Felbrigg Hall which are National Trust. Horsey Beach is worth the drive in winter to see the seals.

Norwich is over 20 miles away if you need a city day for shopping or the cinema.

Facilities: It's all on the ground floor and there's a level entrance, which is helpful for some. Parking is on site. WiFi, TV, bedding and towels are included. Pets are allowed, up to two. There's a shower but not a bath.
