The beach is a short walk away. It's a good, sandy beach. The village centre is about the same distance. There's a shop and a couple of places to eat and drink there.
In the village, there's a park with things like crazy golf and tennis courts. The local golf course is a 9-hole one. If you've got dogs, Bacton Wood is popular for walks. North Walsham, about four miles inland, has a soft play and bowling.
Further afield, Cromer is about nine miles up the coast. It's got the pier, a zoo, and a cinema. Norwich is twenty miles away for proper shopping and the cathedral. The Broads start around Wroxham, which is fifteen miles. You can hire boats there.
A few National Trust places are within half an hour: Felbrigg Hall, Blickling Hall, and Sheringham Park.
