Sandbanks

Sandbanks is in Bacton, near Mundesley. It's a detached place, about 50 yards from a sandy beach. You can see the sea from some rooms.

It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard. Everything feels quite new.

The main thing is the indoor heated swimming pool. It's private, just for the house. The conservatory has doors that open onto the garden, which is enclosed. Good if you've got kids or a dog.

The facilities are all there: a woodburner, dishwasher, WiFi, parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.

For local things, there's a shop and a pub a few minutes' walk away. Cromer and Sheringham are along the coast, maybe 15-20 minutes by car. Cromer has the pier and lifeboat station. Sheringham has the steam railway.

Further out, Norwich is about half an hour. The Norfolk Broads are easily reachable for boat hire. If you like gardens, East Ruston Old Vicarage is worth a trip. For a big day out with children, BeWILDerwood is an adventure park near Horning.

In the winter months, you can see the seals at Horsey Gap. It's a drive, but it's quite a sight if you time it right.
