The Old Stables

The Old Stables is at Ingham Corner, near Stalham. It's part of a group of places on the same farm. You'll have your own garden, and there's plenty of space to walk around the owners' land. They've got about ten acres with woods and bits of river.

It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything is on the ground floor, which makes it straightforward. The doorways are suitable for a wheelchair.

The place is open plan inside. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. They provide the bedding and towels, and they’ll even lend you some beach towels if you ask. There's WiFi and a TV. Parking is right outside.

You can bring a couple of dogs. The garden is enclosed.

There's a shared games room on the farm with a pool table and table tennis.

The local award-winning pub is about a mile away, they do food. The nearest shop is in Stalham, about three miles, that's where the supermarket is.

The beach at Sea Palling is good. It's sandy and about a five minute drive. You sometimes see seals there. Waxham is similar. Horsey Gap is a bit further south, you can walk on the dunes and see the seals properly, especially if there are pups.

You're about ten minutes from the Norfolk Broads. Horsey Mere is basically on the doorstep. Wroxham is about ten miles, that's where you can get boat trips and the Bure Valley steam train.

For walking, you're right by quiet country lanes and the coast path. The area is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, so there's a lot of birdlife.

If you want a day out, Norwich is under an hour. You've got the cathedral and the castle there. There are a few National Trust places within a half hour drive: Horsey Windpump is close, and then Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall are a bit further.
