The Long Barn
The Long Barn is in Dilham, a village inland from the Norfolk coast. It's a converted barn, attached to another holiday place called Wheelwrights. You have your own bit of garden and it's very quiet here.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which shows it's well looked after. Everything is modern and works properly. The floors are those practical vinyl planks, good if you've got sandy feet.
You're at the end of a private tarmac drive. The Norfolk Broads are right at the bottom of that drive, at Dilham Staithe. You can't launch a proper boat from there, but you can put in a kayak or a canoe. Fishing is allowed in season. For a bigger boat, Wayford Bridge is about three miles away.
The coast is under seven miles. That gets you to places like Mundesley or Happisburgh. For the classic Norfolk seaside, Cromer with its pier is about nine miles. Sheringham is a bit further. Wells-next-the-Sea and Blakeney, with the seals, are maybe half an hour's drive.
Norwich is about thirty minutes. It's a proper city with a cathedral and a castle museum. For big estates, Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall are both within easy reach and run by the National Trust.
There's a pub and restaurant half a mile away. The nearest shop is in Stalham, three miles. You'll want to drive.
Facilities: everything you'd expect. Dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring one well-behaved dog. Parking is right outside.
