Estate Cottage

Estate Cottage is on Upper Street in Worstead, Norfolk. It's a detached, brick cottage. It sleeps six, in three bedrooms, and it's got three bathrooms which is handy. The rating is 5 Star, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.

The cottage is in the middle of a 100-acre private estate called Worstead Park. You drive in through an avenue of lime trees. There's a big lake, woods, and fields. You'll see red deer, herons, that sort of thing. It's very quiet.

Inside, it's been done up nicely. There's a wood burner in the living room. The owner was the head gardener here centuries ago, and his portrait is still above the fireplace. Outside, there's a cart shed with a table tennis table and a private hot tub for six.

You can walk straight out from the door onto public footpaths and bridleways, including the Weavers Way long-distance path. The Dilham Canal and the Norfolk Broads are close by. If you ride, you can hire horses from the equestrian centre at the park entrance.

North Walsham is about five and a half miles away for shops and supermarkets. Wroxham, which is the main town for the Broads, is six and a half miles. You can hire boats there. The coast is about a twenty-minute drive. Cromer has a pier and a beach. There are sandy beaches at Happisburgh and Mundesley.

For days out, Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall are both National Trust properties within half an hour. The Bure Valley Steam Railway runs between Aylsham and Wroxham. BeWILDerwood, the adventure park, is near Horning.

Facilities: all the basics are included, like WiFi, a washing machine, and bedding. There's parking. It says it's Christmas themed, which means it's decorated for Christmas if you book over that period. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a £200 security deposit, payable to the owner.
