This is Wherryman's Cottage, in Coltishall. It's on the river, detached. It's old, from around the 1800s I think. You get a garden at the back that goes down to the riverbank.
It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. Two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's beams, an Aga in the farmhouse kitchen, that sort of thing. It's comfortable but it's an old place. The stairs are steep in parts, just to warn you.
It's a short walk to the village. There's a couple of pubs right on the riverfront. The shop is about three quarters of a mile.
The big thing here is the river. You've got a private mooring if you bring a boat. You can fish from the bank. It's very quiet for watching birds. For boat hire, you'd go to Wroxham. That's three miles away. They call it the capital of the Broads.
Wroxham Barns is nearby if you've got kids. They have a junior farm and some craft shops. BeWILDerwood, the adventure park, is about a fifteen minute drive.
Norwich is eight miles. It's a good city for a day out. Cathedral, castle, the market. The coast is about forty five minutes. Sheringham's got a beach and the National Trust park. Great Yarmouth is further, maybe an hour.
Practical stuff: the facilities list says it all. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking for two cars on the drive.
If you're planning walks or days out, the Broads Authority site is useful, or the National Trust for Norfolk.
