Kestrel Cottage

Kestrel Cottage is in Horning, Norfolk. It's a terraced house right on the river, looking over the marina where it joins the River Bure.

It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main living area is upstairs, open plan, so you get the views. The views are very good. You see boats and birds. There's a decked terrace downstairs with direct access to the river, so do watch children. There's also a balcony off the living room.

You can hire a boat and moor it right there. It's a good way to see the Broads. The fishing is known to be good for pike in the winter months. You'll need your own rod.

The village of Horning is about a fifteen minute walk along the river. There are pubs, a few shops, and places to hire boats. In the summer they have boat races and a regatta. National Trust Norfolk has information on places like Blickling Hall, which is about half an hour's drive.

For a day out, Bewilderwood, the tree-top adventure park, is popular with kids. It's roughly 20 minutes by car. The city of Norwich is about 11 miles away for a proper day out shopping or seeing the cathedral. The north Norfolk coast, with beaches like Happisburgh or Sea Palling, is about a 40 minute drive.

What's here: dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is on site. You can bring up to two dogs. It's decorated for Christmas if you book over that period.
