Silver Birches

Silver Birches is in Horning, right on the River Bure. It's a detached bungalow, so everything's on one level. You can't see the water from the road, but you can from the living room. The garden goes down to the riverbank.

It sleeps four with two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and everything works, but it's not high-end.

The main thing is the river. You can fish from your own bit of bank. If you've got a small boat, you can bring it and moor it there. We get a lot of wildlife, herons and things, right past the window.

Horning is a proper boating village. There are pubs and places to hire day boats within walking distance. The local one is about a five minute walk. They do food.

For a bigger day out, Norwich is about half an hour by car. The castle and cathedral are good. Great Yarmouth, for the beach, is a similar drive inland. The coast at Winterton or Horsey is good too, about thirty minutes, and you can often see seals.

The facilities are all listed. There's a BBQ, bike storage, and parking on site. The bedding is included. WiFi is there, but it's village broadband so don't expect to stream films on multiple devices at once. No pets.

Some useful links if you're planning: Broads Authority for boating and walking info, and National Trust Norfolk for places like Blickling Estate.
