Silver Birches

Silver Birches is in Horning, on the Norfolk Broads. It’s a detached bungalow, which means everything’s on the one level. There are a couple of steps at the front door, but that’s it.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower. It’s got a 3 Star rating. It’s clean and comfortable, not a show home. The decor is straightforward.

The main thing is the location. It’s right on the water, just off the River Bure. The living room windows look out across the lawn to the river. You see a lot of wildlife from there. It’s quiet. If you have a small boat, you can bring it and moor it.

Horning village is a short walk. There are a couple of pubs right on the river that do food, some shops, and places where you can hire a day boat. You don't really need to drive if you don't want to.

If you do drive, Norwich is about half an hour away. The cathedral is good, and there's the castle museum. Great Yarmouth and the coast are a similar distance. The North Norfolk Coast is a bit further, maybe 45 minutes, but it's nice for beaches and seals.

Facilities: there’s a TV, a barbecue, a garden with a patio, and parking for your car. Bedding is included. There’s storage if you bring bikes. No pets, I’m afraid.

For more information on the area, the Broads Authority website is useful.
