The Anchorage is a detached house on the river near Wroxham. It's right on the water, with a big lawn that goes down to the edge. You can moor a day boat there for free.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. One of the twin rooms upstairs has its own little veranda overlooking the river. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The garden is enclosed, which is good for dogs and kids. We take up to two pets.
Inside, there's a conservatory looking over the garden and the water. There's a wood burning stove for cooler evenings. The utilities and wifi are included. Everything you'd expect is there, like a washing machine, dishwasher, and bedding and towels are provided.
Outside, there's plenty of parking. There's also a covered cart shed with a table tennis table in it.
The location is the main thing. You're on a private waterway that leads straight into Wroxham Broad. You can fish from the garden if that's your thing. It's very quiet, but you can walk to the shops and pubs in Wroxham in about ten minutes. That's where you'll find boat hire, trips, cafes, and everything else.
Wroxham Barns is a short drive away. It's good for families, with a small funfair and a petting farm. The Bure Valley narrow gauge railway is nearby. For a day out, Norwich is about twenty minutes by car or you can get the train. The coast, like Cromer, is about half an hour's drive.
