1 Alexandra Villa

It's number 1 Alexandra Villa, a terraced cottage right on the street in Horstead. The area is very quiet, village-y. It's very small, just for three people max. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. The rating is the highest, so everything's in good order and it's well looked after.

You look out from the sitting room window onto the street and you can just see the river at the end. There's a small, private courtyard garden out the back with a table and chairs. It's enclosed, which is good.

The village shop is a two minute walk for basics. The pub, the Recruiting Sergeant, is even closer, just down the road. It does good food. Coltishall is the next village along, you can walk it in ten minutes. Everything you might need is there: a few more pubs, shops, takeaways, a butcher.

The River Bure is at the bottom of the lane. You can sit on the green and watch the boats. For bigger boat trips or to hire a day boat, you'd go to Wroxham. It's about four miles. That's the heart of the Broads. Wroxham Barns is nearby for crafts and a café.

Good beaches are half an hour away by car, like Mundesley or Sea Palling. Norwich is twenty minutes in the other direction for proper shopping, the cathedral, the castle.

If you like walking, there are plenty of paths. For a trip out, the Bure Valley Steam Railway runs from Coltishall to Aylsham. There are some National Trust houses close by, like Blickling Hall.

In the house, there's a washing machine, wifi, and a TV. All bedding and towels are provided. There's a walk-in shower. Parking is on-site, right outside.
