Barn Owl
Barn Owl is in Horsford, just north of Norwich. It's a ground-floor cottage for two people, made from a converted farm building. It's next to a bit of woodland. There are a few other cottages here, but it's quiet.
It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and comfortable. Everything is on one level and the doors are wide, which is handy if you use a wheelchair. There’s a walk-in shower. There's also an interconnecting door to the cottage next door, if a larger group wanted to book both.
You can have up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed, so that's fine for them. There's a patio area with a table and a BBQ.
Inside, it's one bedroom and one bathroom. There's a washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. You can park right outside.
The owners run a hotel next door. You can get a cooked breakfast there if you want, which is included.
The cottage sits in about 11 acres. You can walk straight from the door onto footpaths. The Marriott's Way, which is a long traffic-free path, is easy to get to from here. Horsford village is about a quarter of a mile away. It has a shop and a couple of pubs.
Norwich is only ten minutes in the car. It's a good city for shopping, eating, and the cathedral. The Broads are close. Wroxham, which is where you can hire day boats, is about seven miles. The Bure Valley Railway runs from there to Aylsham.
For a day out, Hevingham Lakes is three miles away for fishing. Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall are both National Trust properties with great gardens, about twenty minutes away. Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens is similar distance for something different.
