This is Grebe Lodge, it's Lodge number 6 on the site. It's in Hainford, Norfolk. A quiet spot.
It's a detached lodge on a small site, maybe half a dozen others, so it's not crowded. You get a corner plot. The main view is over fields, not the lake, which is actually quite nice and open.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms, and there are two bathrooms. That's useful. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's well done. The owner has filled it with interesting furniture, a lot of it is vintage Habitat stuff from the 60s and 70s. There are old film posters. It feels designed, not just furnished. It has all the modern things too, a smart TV, good wifi, a decent kitchen.
If it's just a couple using it, you can pull back these big theatrical curtains to open up the main bedroom into the living space. The dining area has bi-fold doors on two sides, so you can open it right up when the weather's good. The table is an old cinema conference table, which is a talking point.
There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. The lodge is all on one level.
You're well placed for getting out. The Norfolk Broads are very close. The Broads for boating or walking. Wroxham is about a 20-minute drive, that's where you can hire day boats. The north Norfolk coast is within half an hour. Cromer for the pier and beach, or places like Happisburgh or Winterton for dunes and walking.
In terms of what's here: it's all got a patio and garden, parking right outside. Washing machine, dishwasher, towels and bedding are included. It takes up to two dogs. There's a shower, no bath.
For planning, the National Trust in Norfolk and the Visit Norfolk sites are good for ideas.
