Riversedge

Riversedge is a houseboat, sort of. It's actually an apartment built into a working boatyard on the River Bure in Hoveton, right by Wroxham. So you'll hear boatyard sounds and see the river traffic, which is part of the point.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is useful. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The layout is upside down: the living area is upstairs to make the most of the view. There's a glass balcony up there to sit on.

You get a small decked area on the ground floor by the water. The big thing is you get a motor launch included with the booking for most of the year. It's an extra charge during the main school summer holidays, you book that with me separately. You can moor it right outside. Life jackets are provided. We have dog life jackets too, you leave a deposit for those.

You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking on site.

For facilities, it's got what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them.

Location wise, you're in Wroxham, which they call the capital of the Broads. There are shops, cafes and a couple of restaurants about a five minute walk away. The local pub is about the same. The best thing is just being on the river. You can take the launch out, or you can walk or cycle. There are paths everywhere.

If you want to go further, the coast is about half an hour's drive. Cromer and Sheringham are the main seaside towns there. Norwich is under half an hour in the other direction for a city day. For National Trust places, Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall are both easy to get to.
