Whispering Reeds is in Horning, on a little side river that feeds into the Bure. It’s a detached house right on the water. The garden is about sixty feet long and ends at your own bit of riverbank, with a decked area to sit and watch the boats go by.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It’s a 5 Star place, so it’s well-finished and everything’s in good order. The main living area is open plan with big sliding doors that open straight onto a deck. There’s a wood burner for cooler evenings. The master bedroom upstairs has its own balcony overlooking the water.
Outside, there are two decked areas. One has a hot tub, the other has an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue. There’s parking for two cars, and an electric vehicle charger. The property has CCTV covering the parking.
You can hire a 17-foot day boat directly from the owner if you want to explore the rivers. Fishing off the bank is possible, especially for pike in the quieter winter months.
Horning village is about a ten minute walk. There are pubs, a few shops, and places to hire boats. In the summer you’ll see the Southern Comfort paddle steamer go past, and there are regattas.
For days out, BeWILDerwood adventure park is close by. Wroxham is about four miles away; it’s got more shops and is a hub for the Broads. The coast with sandy beaches is about a twenty minute drive. Norwich city centre is twenty-five minutes in the other direction.
Facilities: everything listed is included. Bedding, towels, washing machine, dishwasher, cot, highchair. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
