Mallard

This is Mallard. It's one of four lodges right on the River Bure, just outside Wroxham. It's detached and the garden goes down to the water.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well fitted out. The layout is upside down. The living room is upstairs, which means you get a better view from the balcony. The stairs are fine, nothing unusual.

A day motor launch for up to eight people is included with your booking most of the year. You can moor it right outside. There's a charge for it during Whitsun and the summer holidays, but it's a reduced rate from the owner. If you fish, you can use the owner's other riverfront spots with a valid licence and your own gear.

Wroxham is a few minutes' walk. It's got shops, cafes, and places to eat. It's known as the capital of the Broads, so you can get boat trips and hire from the yards there. The best way to see everything is from the water.

You're well placed for walks and cycle routes straight from the door. The coast is about half an hour's drive. Cromer and Sheringham are up there. Norwich is less than ten miles away for a city day out. There are some National Trust houses nearby, like Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall.

For facilities: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it. You can bring up to three dogs. Life jackets are provided free, and pet ones are available for a refundable deposit.
