Mallard

Mallard is a lodge on the river Bure in Hoveton, near Wroxham. It's one of four on the same bit of bank.

It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, which helps when you've got a full house. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped.

The layout is upside down. You go upstairs to the main living area. That means you get a better view from the sitting room and the balcony. You can sit out there and watch the boats go by.

There's a lawn that goes right down to the river. The mooring for your boat is just there. A day boat for eight people is included with the booking most of the year. You pay a bit extra for it in the main summer and Whitsun holidays.

You can fish from the bank if you've got a licence and your own gear. We have a few life jackets here, including some for dogs if you need them. There's a £10 deposit for the dog ones.

Wroxham village is a short walk. There are shops, a few places to eat, and the boatyards there. It's a proper Broads centre.

For days out, the coast at places like Sea Palling or Happisburgh is about half an hour's drive. Norwich is under half an hour the other way for the cathedral, castle, or shopping. If you like National Trust places, Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall are both within easy reach.

Facilities: it's detached, with parking. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot. The garden is yours to use. Up to three dogs are welcome. There's a local pub within walking distance.
