Butterfly Roundhouse is in Panxworth, Norfolk. It's a wooden roundhouse I built by hand in a field. It’s completely on its own, so you get a lot of privacy. The view is just open fields. At night, because there are hardly any lights around, you get a really clear view of the stars.
It sleeps four but there’s only one proper bedroom, which has a kingsize bed. The other two beds are a double sofa bed and two single futons in the main living space. There’s one bathroom with a walk-in shower. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s warm, even in winter, because of the wood burner. There’s no television, so bring a tablet or books if you want entertainment.
Outside, there’s a lawned garden with a firepit and seating. The private hot tub is out there too.
The village is South Walsham. It’s good for walking and cycling straight from the door, using the footpaths and quiet lanes. The nearest pub or restaurant is about two miles away. For shops, you’ve got Acle about four miles one way and Brundall about five miles the other. They’ve got train stations too, which is useful.
Wroxham, which is the main spot for the Norfolk Broads, is about five and a half miles away. You can hire boats there. Norwich is about eleven miles for the cathedral, castle, and shopping. The coast at Great Yarmouth is about a 30 minute drive.
If you’re looking for a day out, the RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw Fen is close by. For something different, Bewilderwood or Roarr! Dinosaur Park are within half an hour’s drive.
Facilities: There’s a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, WiFi, parking right next to it, and bedding and towels are included. No pets. Dressing gowns are provided for adults.
