Butterfly Roundhouse

It's called Butterfly Roundhouse. It's near the village of Panxworth, in the Norfolk countryside.

It's a wooden roundhouse that I built. It's detached and you get your own garden with a firepit and a private hot tub. The view is just fields. Because it's so remote, there's hardly any light pollution, so on a clear night you can see loads of stars.

It sleeps four but it's all one room. There's a kingsize bed, then a double sofa bed and two single futons. So it's fine for a family or two couples, but it's not separate bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. We provide dressing gowns and towels.

It's got underfloor heating and a wood burner. The kitchen's fitted and has a dishwasher. There's WiFi but no TV, so you'll need to bring a tablet or laptop if you want to watch anything.

The local pub is about two miles away, in South Walsham. It does food. For shops and a train station, you'd go to Acle, which is about four miles.

You're right in the middle of the Broads. Wroxham, which is where all the boating is, is about five or six miles away. You can hire day boats there. Norwich is about twenty minutes by car if you want a city day for shopping or the cathedral.

The coast is about a twenty minute drive. Great Yarmouth is the traditional seaside, with the pier and amusements. For something quieter, the beaches east of Winterton are nice.

If you like walking or cycling, you can just step out the door. There are footpaths and quiet lanes everywhere. For a specific walk, the RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw Fen is close by. For general information on the area, Visit Norfolk is useful.

Facilities wise: parking is right there, bedding and towels are included, and the hot tub is ready for you when you arrive. Sorry, no pets.
