River Retreat is a holiday lodge in Brundall, right on the water. It's detached, so it's just you. The main thing is the view. You're looking straight out over the river basin, which leads off the River Yare.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. We renovated it in spring 2023, so it's fresh and comfortable. The living area is open-plan with French doors that open onto the veranda. There are steps down from there to the garden and the water's edge.
You've got your own private mooring right outside, which is handy if you bring a boat. Or kayaks, or paddleboards. There's a bait fridge too, if you're fishing. The fishing is seasonal, of course.
Brundall village has what you need. A shop, a post office, takeaways, and a couple of pubs that do good food. One is just across the river. The train station is about half a mile away.
You're in the Norfolk Broads National Park here. For days out, Norwich is about eight miles east by train or car. It's good for shopping and has a castle and museums. If you head the other way, Great Yarmouth and the seaside towns like Gorleston are within easy reach by car. The beaches there are sandy.
For wildlife, Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens and RSPB Strumpshaw Fen are nearby. Reedham has Pettitts Animal Adventure Park. All are within a 30 minute drive.
Facilities: everything's included – bedding, towels, electricity. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. On-site parking. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
