Swallowtail Lodge
Swallowtail Lodge is in Strumpshaw, near Brundall. It’s a small, detached lodge in our garden. It's best for a couple. We live next door in the main house.
The place sleeps two. It's got one bedroom and one wet room shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's on one level and the door is wheelchair friendly. The floor is laminate, which is easy to keep clean.
You look out over our lake and the reedbeds. There's a lot of wildlife here. We see herons, kingfishers, and all sorts. You can fish in the lake if you have a license, but you’re sharing with the swans. We have a friendly dog called Alfie. He might say hello if he's out.
The lodge has its own veranda with a table and chairs. There's also a summerhouse at the bottom of the garden you can use. The garden is shared with us, but we won't bother you. You’ll probably see us out doing the gardening.
You're right in the Norfolk Broads. The RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw Fen is just down the lane. Brundall is a few minutes drive. You can hire a day boat there. Norwich is about six miles away for shops and the cathedral.
The coast is about a half hour drive. Great Yarmouth is one way, with the beach and everything that goes with it. The quieter beaches are towards Winterton or Horsey.
Facilities wise: parking is right outside. There's WiFi and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
