Oak

Oak is a place in Cantley. It's a single-storey cabin, so it's all on one level. There's a stable and a paddock right next to it, the owners' horses are usually there. You look out over the field from the decking. It's detached.

It's for two people. One bedroom with a double bed, and one bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean, modern and comfortable.

The cabin is set back from the road in the woods, so it's quiet. There's a wood burner for cooler nights. You've got your own decking with a table and chairs, and a private bit of garden. One well-behaved dog is welcome.

You're in the Broads here. You can walk straight out onto the footpaths. The river Yare is about a ten-minute walk away. The local pub, the Coldham Hall Tavern, is on the riverbank. It's a pleasant walk down there.

For a bigger trip, Wroxham is about 20 minutes by car. You can hire day boats there. The Bure Valley narrow-gauge railway runs from Wroxham to Aylsham. Norwich city centre is about half an hour away. The coast at Great Yarmouth is roughly the same. The closest proper sandy beach is probably at Winterton, which is about a 30-minute drive.

Things to do nearby: RSPB Strumpshaw Fen is very close for birdwatching. There are lots of circular walks you can do from the cabin. The Broads Authority website has good maps and information. For a wider view, Visit Norwich is useful.

What's here: bed linen and towels are provided. There's a TV, WiFi, and parking right by the cabin. There's no washing machine. There are two other similar cabins on the same site, called Beech and Chestnut, if you're coming with more people.
