This is Hemblington Hall. It's our family home, but we've split it into two holiday cottages. You'd be in the main hall part. It's a big, old house from around 1690, so the ceilings are high and the windows are large. It feels calm and spacious.
It sleeps six. There are two bedrooms. One is a double on the first floor. The other is a huge attic room with four single beds. There are two bathrooms as well, one on each floor. The stairs are the original ones, so they're quite grand but also a bit steep.
The garden is shared with the other cottage, but it's over an acre so there's plenty of room. There's an outdoor heated swimming pool you can use, which is a bonus. The kitchen has what you need, including a dishwasher, and there's a wood burner in the living room.
You're in the countryside here, looking over fields. The village of Hemblington is a couple of minutes away by car. It has a shop and a very good Indian takeaway. There are a few nice pubs serving food within a short drive.
You're quite central for getting around. The Norfolk Broads are about 15 minutes away. You can hire a day boat there, or go on a river trip. RSPB Strumpshaw Fen is close by for birdwatching. The coast is about 20 minutes. We usually go to Winterton or Sea Palling for a sandy beach. If you go between November and February, you can see the seals at Horsey Gap, which is run by the National Trust.
Norwich city centre is a 20-minute drive. It's good for shopping and has the castle and cathedral. Great Yarmouth is further, about half an hour, if you want the classic seaside experience with amusements and the pier.
In terms of what's here: all bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and parking. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. No pets, I'm afraid.
