Enchanted Cottage

These are a pair of cottages called Enchanted Cottage, set on the grounds of Salhouse Hall near Norwich. They're detached from each other, so you have your own space, and they sit in a large garden area. The garden gets the sun and there's a hot tub out there.

Each cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, so that's handy. They've got a 5 Star rating. They're nice places, well kept. They've tried to keep some of the original features, so the layout is what it is.

You're in Salhouse village. There's a local shop and a couple of pubs about a mile away for basics. Salhouse Broad itself is just down the road. You can walk there, hire a canoe, or just watch the boats. For a bigger trip, you can get on the water at Wroxham, which is about three miles from here. They call it the capital of the Broads. You can hire day boats there.

Norwich is about eleven miles. That's where you go for a proper day out: the castle, the cathedral, shops, that sort of thing.

The coast is a bit further, maybe half an hour's drive. Happisburgh lighthouse or Sea Palling are that way.

Things here: the cottages are wheelchair accessible at the entrance, there's parking right outside, and the garden is private. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. There's bike storage if you bring them. No pets, I'm afraid.

For planning, these sites are good: Visit the Broads and National Trust Norfolk.
