Waterside is in Hoveton, Norfolk. It's one of three apartments in a working boatyard right on the River Bure. You're looking straight out at the water and all the boats coming and going.
It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy. The rating is 4 Star, so it’s comfortable and well-equipped.
The layout is upside down. The living area and kitchen are upstairs to make the most of the view. There are patio doors that open onto a glass balcony. You can sit out there with a drink and watch the river. Downstairs, there’s a small decked area by the water.
A big part of the stay is the boat. You get the use of a motor launch included, which moors right outside. You have to pay a charge for it during the main school holidays, but otherwise it's free. It’s the best way to see the Broads. Life jackets are provided. They have some for dogs too, for a small deposit.
The boatyard next door runs day trips if you'd rather not skipper yourself. Wroxham village, with shops and places to eat, is a short walk away. The coast with its beaches is about half an hour by car. Cromer and Sheringham are up that way.
Norwich is less than half an hour's drive if you want a city day. It's got the cathedral, the castle, and all the shops. For walks, the area is full of footpaths and cycling trails.
Facilities include parking, WiFi, a dishwasher, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can take up to two dogs. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
