Main Sail

Main Sail is a block of apartments right on the river in Hoveton. It's next to Wroxham, which is where all the boating stuff is. You get your own balcony over the water.

It sleeps nine. There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and modern. The bedrooms are spread out, which is useful.

You get a private mooring. The main thing is that a small motorboat is included for you to use, free of charge. That's for most of the year, but not during the school summer holidays. In those weeks you can hire one from the owner instead, at a lower rate.

If you fish and have a licence, you can do that from the bank nearby. They have life jackets here for you, and for dogs if you need them.

Wroxham is a five minute walk. There are shops, a few places to eat, and the big boatyards. It's called the capital of the Broads for a reason.

You're on the edge of the Norfolk Broads. The best way to see it is from the water, which you can do from your doorstep. For walking or cycling, there are plenty of paths. The coast is about half an hour's drive. Cromer and Sheringham are up there, with proper beaches.

Norwich is under 20 minutes away by car. It's good for a day out, or if you need a big supermarket. For history, Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall are both National Trust places and are easy to get to.

Facilities: parking on site, washing machine, wifi, towels and bedding are provided. There's a cot and a stairgate. You can bring up to two dogs.

Useful links: Broads Authority for boating and fishing rules, and National Trust Norfolk for days out.
