The Malt Shovel is one of five cottages here at Wayford Bridge, near Stalham. It's on the river, on the Norfolk Broads.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have their own bathrooms. The living room has patio doors that open onto a small balcony over the water. There's a garden bit and your own bit of quay for fishing. The stairs are pretty standard.
Inside, it's set up for a week away. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding is included. The decor and fittings are decent. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main thing here is the river. Each cottage gets its own dinghy to use. There's also an indoor heated swimming pool and a sauna on site, which you share with the other four cottages.
The shop and a pub are about five minutes walk. Stalham's close for general groceries. Wroxham and Hickling Broad are about 15 minutes by car. The coast at Sea Palling or Happisburgh is maybe 20 minutes.
Norwich is 12 miles for a city day out. Great Yarmouth is 16 miles for the beach and the seafront. If you like a big house or garden, there are National Trust places like Blickling Hall or Felbrigg Hall within about half an hour.
No pets allowed. There's parking here for your car.
If you're looking into boat trips or local nature reserves, the Broads Authority site is useful. For the National Trust places, National Trust Norfolk has the visitor details.
