This is Maud. It's a houseboat on the River Ant near Stalham in Norfolk. It's one of five, all moored together in a fixed spot by a boatyard. They don't move, so you've got mains water and electric.
It sleeps two in one bedroom. The bathroom is a wet room. Everything's on one level inside, which is open plan. It's compact but it's got what you need. There's a little platform outside the doors with chairs, and then you step off onto a big shared grass area by the river. That's where the BBQ is. You get your own picnic bench.
The rating is 3 Star. It's comfortable and clean, not luxury. The wet room floor can get a bit slippery.
You're right on the river. You can fish from the bank. If you want to go out on the water, you can hire a motor launch from the boatyard next door. The Norfolk Broads Museum is just across the river, you can walk or row over.
Stalham village is about half a mile for a shop and a pub. There's a restaurant about five yards from the boats. For a bigger supermarket or more choice, you'd drive.
Wroxham is about eight miles away. That's where you'll find more shops and the Bure Valley Railway. The coast is about a twenty minute drive. Sea Palling is the closest beach, or Waxham and Horsey are quieter. Norwich is maybe 40 minutes for a city day out.
You can have up to two pets. Parking is on site. Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi and a TV.
