Ardea

This is Ardea. It's a houseboat moored on the River Ant in Stalham. We call it a houseboat, but it doesn't move. It's fixed to the bank, so it has all the normal connections like electricity and water.

It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. The main living area is open plan, and the doors open onto a small deck with a couple of chairs. You step from there onto a shared grass area by the river. There's a barbecue spot and a picnic bench for each boat.

The space inside is compact. It's modern and clean. It has a 3 Star rating, which feels about right. It's comfortable, not luxurious.

You can fish right from the side. The boatyard next door hires out motor launches if you want to go exploring on the water. The Norfolk Broads are best seen from a boat.

Stalham village is a short walk away. There's a supermarket, shops, and a pub. There's also a restaurant about five yards from the mooring.

For days out, the coast at Sea Palling is about five miles. For a quieter beach, try Waxham or Horsey. Wroxham is eight miles away. It's got shops and is a stop for the Bure Valley miniature steam railway. Norwich is about a 40 minute drive for shopping or the cathedral. Horsey Windpump is nearby if you like walking and wildlife.

It says it's wheelchair accessible, but it's a boat with steps onto the deck, so you'd need to check that carefully if it's important.

In terms of what's here: there's parking, WiFi, a TV, and bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
