Olive

The place is called Olive. It's a houseboat, moored in Stalham on the River Ant. It's not motorised, it stays fixed to the bank. You get all the nice views without having to steer.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and comfortable, not luxury. It's open plan inside, so it's all one space. The living area opens onto a small deck with a couple of chairs. You step off that onto a big shared grass area by the river. There's a barbecue spot and your own picnic bench there.

Fishing is right there if you want it. The boatyard next door hires out motor launches if you fancy exploring the rivers properly. That's the best way to see the Broads.

There's a restaurant about five yards away on the staithe. A shop is half a mile, and a proper pub is about a mile's walk. Stalham village has supermarkets and things.

For days out, the coast at Sea Palling is about five miles. Horsey and Waxham are good for quieter beaches. Wroxham is eight miles away, they call it the capital of the Broads. Norwich is about a 40 minute drive for a city day out. There's BeWILDerwood near Horning if you've got kids, and the Broads National Park site has useful info.

Included: bedding, towels, WiFi, TV, parking. There's a shower, not a bath. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance. You can bring two dogs.
