The Cow Shed is just outside Horning, on the Norfolk Broads. It's a single-storey barn conversion, so everything's on the ground floor. That's handy if stairs are a bother.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-kitted out and comfortable. Nothing's missing, but it's not overly fancy either. It's just a good, solid place to stay.
The main quirk is that the games room - with a pool table and some board games - is in a separate building next door. You get the key for it. There's a private patio garden too. It's enclosed, so it's safe for kids or if you have a dog.
You're about half a mile from the village of Horning. It's a proper Broads village on the river. There are a couple of pubs, a café, and a shop. The pubs do food. For things to do, you can hire day boats or go on river trips from Horning or Wroxham.
Wroxham is about four miles away. That's where you'll find the big Roys department store and the station for the Bure Valley Railway. For a family day out, BeWILDerwood is only a few minutes' drive. It's a treetop adventure park for kids.
If you want the coast, the beaches at Sea Palling and Horsey are about half an hour away. They're wide, sandy, and have dunes. Norwich is twenty minutes in the other direction. Good for a bit of shopping or seeing the cathedral.
You're well placed for wildlife. The How Hill nature reserve is nearby for walks. For birdwatchers, the RSPB reserves on the north Norfolk coast are within an hour's drive, as are the seal trips from Blakeney.
In terms of what's here, it's all included: bedding, towels, WiFi, parking. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. The property is pet-free.
