Nightingale is in Wroxham, right by the river. It's a terraced cottage on a small development. The main part of the place is open-plan, so the kitchen, living area and dining space are all together.
It sleeps two people. There are two bedrooms but they're both doubles, so it's really for two people or maybe a couple with a very small child who doesn't mind a sofa bed. It has a 4 Star rating. It's clean and modern, not old-fashioned.
The front of the cottage has French doors that open onto a shared grassy area right by the water. At the back there's a private raised deck and a boat basin. If you hire a boat for the day, you can tie it up right there.
There's a pub about 50 yards away. The shop is a bit further, maybe an 800-yard walk. You can get the train from Wroxham station if you don't want to drive everywhere. Norwich is about eight miles by train or car.
This is a good spot if you like fishing. You can just step out the door with your gear. For a bigger day out, you can get a boat from one of the hire places in town. Wroxham Barns is nearby, which has craft shops and a farmyard for kids.
BeWILDerwood, which is that treehouse adventure place, is in Horning, about a 15 minute drive. The coast is about 12 miles away for a beach day. If you like golf, the nearest course is at Sprowston, about five miles away.
Facilities: parking is on site. Bedding and towels are included. There's a walk-in shower, WiFi, and a TV. There's no washing machine. Sorry, no pets allowed.
