The Norfolk Broads Cottage - Farthings

This is Farthings, on the edge of Wroxham. It's a thatched cottage that sleeps up to fourteen people. There are five bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's a Five Star place, which means it's a high standard and very well equipped.

The building itself is old, from the late 1700s. If you look at the bricks on the outside, you can see carvings from 1820. The garden is big and fully enclosed, with a patio and a hot tub. There's also a separate games cabin and a treehouse for kids. The garden gets a lot of sun.

Inside, the kitchen has a large farmhouse table. The stairs are winding, as you'd expect. We have a cot and highchair if needed.

You can walk to Wroxham town centre in about fifteen minutes. There are shops, boat hire, and riverside cafes there. There's also a train station with services to Norwich and the coast at Cromer. The Bure Valley miniature railway is close by too.

For a day out, Wroxham Barns is a few minutes' drive. It has a junior funfair, farm animals, and craft shops. BeWILDerwood in Horning is a treehouse and rope bridge adventure park, good for children. The city of Norwich is about twenty minutes by car or train for shopping.

The beach at Sea Palling is about a twenty-minute drive. For walking, the Hoveton Great Broad Nature Trail is lovely, but you need to get the ferry across from Horning.

We take up to three dogs. There is parking on site.
