The Norfolk Broads Cottage - Farthings

The Norfolk Broads Cottage is called Farthings. It's a thatched house in Wroxham. It sleeps 14 people, which is a lot. There are five bedrooms and two bathrooms.

It's a 5 Star place, so it's nicely done up. The garden is fully enclosed and wraps around the house. There's a hot tub in there. There's also a separate cabin with games and a tree house for kids. The garden gets a lot of sun in summer.

The house is old, from the late 1700s. You can see some old carvings in the bricks outside from 1820. Inside it's been modernised, but it's still a cottage. The kitchen has a big farmhouse table for everyone.

There's parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to three dogs.

You're right in Wroxham, the main village for the Broads. It's a five minute walk to the river at Caen Meadow. There's a shop close by and a couple of playgrounds. The centre of Wroxham, with boat hire and trips, is about 15 minutes on foot. You don't really need the car.

There's a pub and restaurant half a mile away. More shops and places to eat are within a mile.

If you want to explore further, the coast at Cromer is about nine miles. Norwich city is a short drive or you can get the train from one of the two stations nearby. There's also the Bure Valley miniature railway.

For local attractions, Wroxham Barns is a few minutes' drive. It has a petting farm, some rides and craft shops. BeWILDerwood is in Horning, which is close by. For walks, the Broads National Park is right on your doorstep. The Hoveton Great Broad Nature Trail is good, but you need a boat to get to it.
