Broad Cottage Boathouse is in Ranworth. It's a detached, single-storey building right by the water, more of a modern lodge than a traditional cottage. It sleeps two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
You're on the edge of Malthouse Broad. There's a little walk down from the property to the staithe and a grass area with some benches. You can sit and watch the boats. It's a conservation village, so it's quiet. The local pub and a shop are a few minutes walk away.
The living area is upstairs. It's open plan. There's a fan for summer. It's cosy in winter. The stairs up to it are internal and straightforward.
The main thing here is the location if you like nature and water. The floating Broads Wildlife Centre is a short walk along a boardwalk. You can see marsh harriers, cormorants, all sorts. They do guided boat trips on a private broad from April to October.
St Helen's Church in the village is known as the cathedral of the Broads. You can climb the tower for the views, but there are quite a few steps.
Wroxham is about seven miles. That's where you go for boat hire, shops, and river trips. Norwich is ten miles the other way for proper shopping, the theatre, and the castle.
The north Norfolk coast with its beaches is under half an hour's drive. Bure Valley Railway is about seventeen miles if you fancy a steam train trip to Wroxham.
Facilities: it's all included. There's a washing machine, towels and bedding are provided, WiFi, TV, and parking on site. There's a patio area. No pets.
