Violet Cottage
Violet Cottage is in Catfield, which is a quiet village in the Broads. It's the middle cottage in a row of three. They're thatched and were built a long time ago, in the 17th century I think.
It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms and a bathroom. The bathroom is on the ground floor. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean, not boutique. Everything you need is in there.
The main thing is the large garden out the back. It's enclosed, so it's safe for dogs or kids. Inside, there's an open fire in a big fireplace. We leave some wood for you to get started.
There's a village shop and a pub about a hundred yards away. The pub does food. For a day at the beach, Sea Palling is about five miles away. It's sandy and good for families.
You're right in the Broads here. Hickling Broad is four miles off. It's a nature reserve, really good for birdwatching. Horsey Mere is about nine miles. You can see the seals at Horsey in the winter. If you want to get out on the water, you can hire boats at Potter Heigham.
Norwich is 18 miles away if you want a city day for shopping or the cathedral.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, parking on site, and bedding and towels are included. We can take up to two dogs.
