You're in a good spot here for the coast and the Broads. Sea Palling beach is about an 11 minute drive. It's sandy with dunes. For boat hire or river trips, Stalham Staithe is just the other side of the main coastal road.
Great Yarmouth is about 16 miles away if you want the amusements and the pier. Norwich is a bit further, maybe 30 minutes by car, for proper shopping and the cathedral.
