The Dairy
The Dairy is a converted barn on our farm in Hickling. It sleeps two, one bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished and has things like a dishwasher and good wifi.
The barn is over 200 years old, but it's been done up inside. It's open plan downstairs. The stairs up to the bedroom are a bit steep, just so you know. You get your own enclosed garden with a table and chairs. There's parking right outside.
We have a few other holiday barns next to it, but each one is private. Also on the wider farm meadow, we run a small, members-only Caravan Club site for five vans. It's separate, but you might see a caravan or two over the hedge.
Hickling village is about a ten-minute walk. There's a shop and two pubs that do food. The local area is flat, good for cycling. Hickling Broad is very close. You can walk to the nature reserve from here. It's part of the Norfolk Broads. For boat hire, you can go to Hickling Broad itself or to Potter Heigham, which is a few miles down the road.
The coast is about three miles away. Sea Palling and Waxham have sandy beaches. You can often see seals at Horsey Gap, which is a bit further along. Norwich is about forty minutes by car if you want a city day. It's got the cathedral, a castle, and shops.
For a day out, the National Trust has some big houses nearby like Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall. The Broads Authority website is good for maps and hiring boats.
Facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, wifi, and an electric vehicle charger. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's bicycle storage if you bring bikes.
