Rose Cottage

Rose Cottage is in Reedham, Norfolk. It's a thatched cottage right opposite the River Yare. The village is a quiet, pretty sort of place.

The cottage sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating which means it's well looked after and comfortable. It used to be the village inn and then a sweet shop a long time ago. Now it's just a nice house. There are exposed beams and a wood burner.

The layout is a bit unusual. There's a twin bedroom and the bathroom on the ground floor. Then upstairs there are two double bedrooms and a separate toilet. The stairs are old cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep.

You've got a sun room at the front that looks straight out over the river. It's south facing, so it gets the sun. The garden at the back is enclosed and tiered, with steps leading up to the private parking area. There's a patio with furniture.

In Reedham itself, there are two pubs. The one that does food is literally about ten yards from the front door. There's also a shop, a café, and a fish and chip shop. The railway station is here too, which is handy.

If you like boats or fishing, you're in the right spot. You can hire boats or go on river trips from Wroxham, which is about a 30 minute drive. It's a busy little place on the Broads. Norwich is about 25 minutes away by car. It's a proper city with shopping, a castle, a cathedral, and plenty of restaurants.

For the coast, Great Yarmouth is about a 25 minute drive. It's a traditional seaside town with a pier and amusement arcades. For a quieter beach, Winterton-on-Sea or Horsey are a bit further, maybe 40 minutes.

We allow up to three pets. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking on site.
