The Dairy

The Dairy is in Bempton, on the very edge of the village. It's a converted farm building, one of two cottages here. It's detached, so no shared walls. You’ve got your own enclosed patio out the back. It looks west over the fields, so you get the sun in the evening.

It's just for two people. One bedroom, one shower room. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and everything's new. The underfloor heating works very well. The main wall in the living area is the original flint, which we’ve left exposed. It looks good, but it does mean the room can feel a bit cool on the shoulder if you lean against it.

There's a wood-burning stove. We provide logs. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a wood-fired hot tub on the patio. You light it yourself and it takes a few hours to heat, so you need to plan for that. There's also an electric vehicle charger on site.

In the village, there's a shop and a pub, both about a ten-minute walk down the lane. The pub does food. The big draw here is the coast. The RSPB Bempton Cliffs reserve is about a mile and a half away. You can walk there along the cliff top if you don't mind the breeze. It's all about the seabirds in spring and summer.

Flamborough Head is a short drive. Good walks, and the lighthouse. Filey and Bridlington are both about ten minutes by car if you want a beach day or a proper shop. For a longer day out, the North York Moors or York are within an hour's drive.

Facilities are all listed. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome. There's parking right outside.
