The Lodge is a one-bedroom place in Carlyon Bay. It's detached, so you've got your own walls. It sleeps two, adults only I'm afraid. No pets either.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. You come in the front door into the main living area. The bathroom is downstairs. The bedroom is upstairs. The bed looks out over the golf course and you can see the sea from it. There's an ensuite shower room up there too.
Outside, there's a front terrace with a table and chairs. It gets the morning sun. There's a bit of garden area as well. You get a private parking spot right by the cottage.
The beach is a five minute walk down the hill. It's a proper sandy beach when the tide's out. The South West Coast Path runs right past it, so you can walk for miles either way. The golf course is just next door.
It's a good spot for getting to things. Charlestown, with the tall ships and the harbour, is about a ten minute drive. The Eden Project is maybe 15 minutes. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are about 20 minutes away. St Austell town centre is five minutes in the car for supermarkets.
One thing to know: the railway line runs along the other side of the hedge. Trains do go past, but it's not a main line so it's not constant. Most people don't find it a problem, but I mention it.
Facilities are all there: TV, WiFi, parking, shower, bedding and towels included. The patio is a nice spot.
