Tean is in Polruan, Cornwall. Polruan is a proper old fishing village on a steep hill, across the water from Fowey. You get the private garden to yourselves.
The cottage sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. It's on three floors. The stairs are cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep and narrow in places. That's just how it is.
The top floor bedroom is in the attic. It's a twin room and it's got a little separate snug area, which kids tend to like.
The garden is accessed by a few steps from the back door. It slopes a bit and has a raised deck with some furniture.
Polruan itself has a shop, a couple of pubs, and a sandy beach down at the quay. You walk everywhere here, really. The foot ferry over to Fowey runs from the quay. It takes a few minutes. Fowey has more shops, places to eat, and a bigger beach at Readymoney.
The coastal path is right there. You can walk to Polperro along it, which is a good day out. For a shorter walk, the Hall Walk from Polruan to Bodinnick and Fowey is lovely, through the woods by the water.
If you want to drive, the Eden Project is about half an hour away. So is the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Charlestown, with its old ships, is maybe twenty minutes.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and a wood burner. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking for one car on site.
