Norfolk Broads Cottage

This is the Norfolk Broads Cottage in Stalham Staithe. It's an end-of-terrace house on three floors, right by the River Ant.

It sleeps five people in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is accurate. Everything's modern and clean. The stairs are standard for this sort of place.

You get a good view of the river and the boatyards from the top front windows. The garden at the back is fully enclosed, which is useful.

We allow up to three dogs. There are dog beds, bowls, and towels here for them. It saves you bringing quite so much.

The house has all the basics: WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher, parking. Bedding and towels are included.

You're a minute's drive or a short walk from Stalham town centre. There are shops, a couple of pubs, and places to eat there. The Norfolk Broads Museum is just up the road if you're interested in the local history.

The big thing here is the water. There's a boatyard next door where you can hire a motor launch for the day to explore the Broads. Fishing is possible on the river too.

For a day out, Wroxham is about eight miles away. That's where you'll find the main boat hire companies and shops. BeWILDerwood near Horning is popular with families. The coast is close. Sea Palling beach is five miles. For a quieter beach and seal spotting, try Horsey or Winterton, which are a short drive further along the coast.

Norwich is about a 40-minute drive for a city day out. Great Yarmouth is roughly half an hour in the other direction. The Visit Norfolk website has good information for planning trips.
